Fire! Bananas Foster. Tasty 🙂

Flambe!  Simone decided to make Bananas Foster tonight, and kindly nominated me the pyrotechnician (Aubrey provided the matches and lit the first round of fire – I stirred).  Great idea Simone!  We had a whole Big Easy meal – red beans & rice, collards, sweet potatoes, and dessert.  Delicious.

Andrew took this photo – displaying a lot of calm considering the level of open combustion in his kitchen.  Raises the question of whether it’s a break from the photo-a-day-for-a-year rules if someone else takes the picture.  We made the decision quickly on account of the fire – I think it’s in keeping with the rules in the right set of circumstances.
